Scania

DDW

Problem Statement

Scania is transitioning from traditional physical buttons to a more modern, digital in-cab experience. This evolution includes enhanced navigation, advanced driver-assistance systems, media integration, apps, interior lighting, and an overall smarter, more intuitive cab environment.

My Role

As a Senior Designer in Scania R&D, I led the development of interior light themes for the Digital Driver Workspace (DDW). My work spanned the full design process—from conducting user research and generating concepts to designing and prototyping advanced lighting experiences. I collaborated closely with cross-functional stakeholders and presented future-facing design visions that explored what’s possible in next-generation in-cab environments.

Team

I collaborated with a large team of 56 designers, including specialists in visual graphics, UX design, audio design, and motion graphics.

Tools & Practices

I worked in Figma for design, used Jira for Agile project management. We had internal systems for User research.
